The Original Brutti e Buoni of Gavirate

The original and probably the best, Pasticceria Veniani are the inventors of Italy’s famous Brutti e Buoni ( ugly and good) biscuits.

These light, sweet and crunchy nut biscuits were first made ib 1878 by Constantino Veniani, a pastry chef from Lombardy.

In 1910 with the help of the mayor of Turin, Constantino obtained his registered trade mark which remains on the tissue wrapping to this day.

Toasted almonds and hazelnuts are combined and baked in crispy meringue, then hand-wrapped in pairs in there signature tissue paper.

Veniani ‘s Brutti e Buoni are the perfect partners for a strong espresso, a glass of Prosecco, or a vanilla ice cream.
